WHAT KIND OF MOTOR TRADE INSURANCE DO I NEED?
Road risk insurance offers you three levels of cover to protect your motor trade business.
- Third party only covers damage to other people and their property in the event of an accident – it doesn’t cover your own property
- Third party, fire and theft gives you third party cover as above, plus cover for fire damage to or theft of your vehicles
- Comprehensive cover gives you all of the above plus any damage to your own vehicles is covered, and you can claim for personal injury.
Combined motor trade insurance is often chosen by traders with a business premises that needs protecting, or with staff who also need to be covered. Basically, a combined motor trade policy can include all the types of cover you need, from road risk to public liability, employers liability, and other things like cash on premises and tools in transit.

COVER FOR YOUR FLEET
If you have three or more vehicles as part of your business, Commercial Fleet Insurance will make insuring them simple. You can put all your vehicles on one trade policy with a single renewal date, and add or remove vehicles easily with just a phone call.
Can I drive my fleet vehicles for personal use?
Yes; with commercial fleet insurance, unlike regular motor trade road risk insurance, you can also be covered for social, domestic and pleasure use of your vehicles.
Do I need to name all the drivers on my policy?
You can add named drivers to your policy if you wish, or just specify drivers by a range of open driving options: any driver over 21, any driver over 25, or any driver over 30.
PROTECT YOUR BUSINESS FROM CLAIMS
If someone gets hurt on your premises or on the job, liability insurance will make sure you’re protected from costs. If you employ anyone you need to have employers liability insurance by law. If you interact with members of the public, it’s best practice to ensure your business is protected against any claims by taking out public liability insurance.
We also offer a range of business insurance options designed to support you in taking care of your business, such as covering your home for business and personal use if you run your business from home, and protecting you from cyber attacks. Additionally, our vehicle on premises cover ensures stock vehicles are protected against damage or theft on the business premises.
